Will Gamila find true love? The script of this true story, is based on Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman in John 4.
Gamila is a young woman raised in an environment devoid of love and affection. As a teenager, she enters into several relationships, looking for love that can fill the void in her heart and life. Each relationship is unsatisfying and unhealthy. Alternately, she plays the victim role and the role of manipulator. When she is cheated on yet again and discovers that her boyfriend has considered her a nice distraction, she collapses.
This short film won three awards at an Arab short film festival in Egypt: best script, best actress and best director.
Our partner organisation SAT7 also informed us that their 'Our Generation Plus' team will be using the film extensively. 'Thank you once again for participating in the first edition of the *Geelna Plus - جيلنا بلس* Short Film Festival 2024, held in collaboration with the *Egyptian Catholic Centre for Cinema* and *SAT-7 Channel*. Your film "جميلة"(Gamila) truly stood out, and we believe it deserves to be seen by as many people as possible.
