Many Arab men have completely lost their role and identity in relationships, in marriage, family, society and church. For generations, they have been taught that men are in charge, that they should not show emotions, control women and children, often by being violent.
In our follow-up work, we often interact with many Arab men who feel useless, they don't like the gender roles they are stuck in, but have no idea how to change their attitudes and behaviour.
This programme aims to raise awareness and support and equip Arab men in their roles in the changing society, family and church. In addition, the programme aims to expose harmful cultural stereotypes and expectations that negatively affect Arab men's self-image and hinder their opportunities.
Topics covered in the series include men's roles in marriage and family, personal development, spirituality and cultural traditions. By highlighting these things and providing a platform to talk through experiences and perspective, we hope to promote a more nuanced and inclusive understanding of manhood and support the growth and development of Arab men in their various roles.
