Warda is born in Syria into a Muslim family. She marries and has three children. However, the marriage ends in divorce, leading to her own family rejecting her. She worked hard to keep her head above water, but at one point was treated badly by her business partner, who turned out to be working with ISIS. He went to the secret police with false accusations against her. This led to a broken shoulder, a bankrupt business and death threats. She decided to flee.

In the midst of this misery, her heart continues to search for the truth and she reads the Bible in secret. ‘It feels as if Jesus’ teachings describe who I really am!’

In the summer of 2025, she comes into contact with us. ‘I want to try to understand the story of salvation, from creation to the coming of Jesus. I love Jesus more than anyone else. I have read the Old and New Testaments and recognise myself in these books. I used to forgive and help others, and people thought I was naive. But the Bible teaches us that this is the right way.’

We send her videos with lessons such as God's plan of salvation, the meaning of the cross, unconditional love, and opening your heart through prayer. Together with her children, she also watches the Jesus film. ‘I see my life in His. He suffered to set us free!’

Before she comes to a confession of faith, God has already spoken through dreams of her family members. Her sister dreams that she sees Warda on the Day of Judgment, standing under a luminous cloud, while the world around her is dark. Her daughter sees her mother in a dream in a huge house, protected, while outside there is chaos and people are dying. Her sister-in-law dreams that a gift comes down from heaven. People wonder who it is for. Warda believes that these dreams are clear signs of God's calling and protection.

After watching the film and attending the lessons, Warda tells us: ‘My children and I have become Christians. Even my daughter has secretly hoped for this for years.’

Shortly afterwards, her son has a serious accident, which he miraculously survives. She gets back in touch and asks, ‘I would like to grow in my faith and be baptised in a church.’

Warda trusts that she has been chosen by God, despite her pain. ‘Everyone tried to destroy me, but they didn't succeed. God has turned my tears into blessings.’

Now she tells the story of Jesus to others. ‘My daughter tells me that people will become Christians because of my story.’
