Objective of Africana foundation
Africana Foundation aims to provide support to social projects in (North) Africa, giving priority to persons and groups in disadvantaged situations. The foundation aims to achieve its objective by providing educational, medical, financial and organisational assistance, among other things.
The board
The board consists of a minimum of three members with full voting rights. The board consists of:
- P. Stoter (chairman)
- A. Hekstra (treasurer)
- A. Houtman (general member)
Board members are unpaid; they are entitled to reimbursement of expenses based on expenses actually incurred in performing their board duties, such as the cost of attending a board meeting.
The Foundation has no employees.

Policy plan 2025-2027 of the Africana Foundation in outline:
Africana Foundation is committed to supporting people and groups, especially those in disadvantaged situations, in regions of (North) Africa (and the Middle East).
We promote the improvement of socio-economic conditions by financially supporting projects in the field of education and training, developing awareness programmes on the rights of minorities and underprivileged, such as women, the (mentally) disabled, children and religious minorities.
Emphasis is on supporting activities using media (training) to promote awareness and freedom of choice in society and, through videos, opportunities for social improvement and help protect basic human rights.
One example is the promotion of women's rights: the right not to be circumcised, the right to walk the streets safely, the right to equality in marriage and other relationships. To this end, Africana supports initiatives that promote these rights for individuals, groups and in society as a whole.
We also focus on groups in society that form a (religious) minority, whose rights are neglected. Social discussions that are relevant in church and mosque are conducted through modern media projects and projects in this area are supported by Africana.
Activities 2024
By 2024, the Africana Foundation supported the following activities in North Africa and the Middle East:

- Social media campaigns: women's rights, youth identity development
- Counselling women, adolescents.
- Awareness of men's role and identity in masculine societies
