The Frog Miracle!

One of Arab Vision's freelance producers was traveling in the region this month to collect various programming footage.

One item on his long list: a video clip of a frog!  He tells us what happened next...

In one of the production lists, someone had asked for a clip of a frog.  I do not know why, but it is there.  I have been thinking how to get one since I have not seen any frogs anywhere so far.

Today while walking through the gorge by the river, I walked on some soft mud, sank in the mud up to my ankles and my shoes got stuck and stayed down in the river bed.  So I had to stop and clean the clay mud off my shoes and jeans. Then I sat with soaking wet shoes by a small rock, pointing the camera at the water, holding the camera at water level, camera in focus close up on the rock, and rolling.

Then all of a sudden, a frog leaps out of the water and lands in perfect position in the middle of the frame, filling the whole frame in full focus.  I could not have planned this even if the frog was a paid actor!  God commanded a frog to hop out of the water and come in full frame, and stay there long enough and then hop back into the water. Amazing! You have to see this clip to believe it!

And here are some more excerpts from the same report.

I just want to give thanks for God's goodness and His protection over us. I have never experienced God's provision in a more powerful way. It seems everyday God has new plans and He provides the perfect weather conditions that are suitable for that day and that location.

I have expericed cold and rainý weather with thunder and lightning in one town, snow on the way to two other towns, Then perfect white fluffy clouds while in another region followed by perfect crisp clear weather when in in the desert, with miles of clear views. Amazing. We have seen the rain and the snow in full gear as well as spring in full blossom.

Most days our plans change after we start the day, and we improvise a lot. We 'play it by ear'! In the end, I have collected some wonderful footage, some that I could not have planned better even if I were in full control of the weather and the lighting conditions.

But the trip has been eventful. Today while filming someone must have reported us while we stopped to ask for directions and film in the middle of a village. Three police cars came and asked us to follow them to the station. But after they took all our details down and heard what I was doing, they were very courteous and released us with no problems. They even sent someone to make sure that no one interrupts our filming while in the area. We exchanged telephone numbers with the Chief officer who said to contact him in case we encounter any further problems with police in other areas. God is good. So now that the police knows who we are and what we are doing, we have their unofficial blessing and protection.

Yesterday, I had another answer to a prayer. I have been asking the guys about the possibility of finding a trditional oven that prepares and bakes village bread for the footage needed. They could not think of a solution. So we drove around and at the entrance to an old village, we met a local man. He advised us not to leave the car unattended due to risk of theft. I talked to him for a few minutes, and he went into his tradition home.

A few minutes later, he came back offering me a piece of warm freshly baked flat bread. It tasted good! I asked him how they prepared this and he said that his wife bakes this at home. I asked if I could have a look at the oven. He was surprised and apologized saying it was not appropriate to come inside the house; but he said he would ask. He returned a few minutes later saying that his wife was heavily pregnant ready to deliver any day, and that it was not appropriate to go in and film. I thanked him, but did not take 'no' for an answer. I said: "I do not need to film your wife, but would it be possible to only film the oven."

He went into the house and returned saying it was OK. So I went into the house enclosure by myself. A few minutes later, his wife came out nicely dressed and said she will bake one bread from scratch for me. I discovered that this man was a security guard, and his wife used to work at the same police station with him. She is highly educated.

So God used this security guard who invited me into his traditional home. The wife prepared and kneeded the dough from scratch and baked the bread. Then she and her husband and two children sat down on the floor and ate it with traditional dates and milk as I filmed the entire procedure. I could not have planned this better even if I had paid for actors. Amazing!

We trust you were encouraged by this recent testimony of God's provision.  May we invite you to keep praying for him and the rest of our TV production crews operating in the Arab World?

There is also a practical way that you can help.  We urgently need a new camera for our field productions, similar to the scenarios described above.  Would you consider if this is something you can contribute towards it?  Click here to download a short description and contact us if you can help.  Thank you!

Prayer

Please pray for the scheduling of someTV production in the next few weeks in Iraq where travel can be difficult.
